Year 5 Gurdwara Visit

On our recent trip to the Gurdwara in Southall, Year 5 students had a wonderful opportunity to deepen their understanding of Sikhism, which has been an integral part of their curriculum. The children were introduced to the significance of the Five Ks: Kesh, Kara, Kanga, Kirpan, and Kachera, each representing a core commitment to the Sikh faith and identity. Through engaging discussions and guided tours, they gained insight into the religious devotion that underpins everyday life for Sikhs. A highlight of the visit was the communal meal, known as Langar, where some students experienced the spirit of equality and service that is central to the Sikh community. This enriching excursion not only enhanced their knowledge of Sikhism but also promoted values of respect and inclusion. We are grateful to the Gurdwara community for welcoming us and providing such an informative experience for our students.
