Computing

Intent for Computing:

At Charville Academy we want to give our pupils the skills to be confident, creative and responsible consumers and creators of digital content. First and foremost, our children learn the importance of keeping safe online and this is embedded throughout our curriculum. We want our children to be able to use information effectively by making their own choices and being digitally literate. Our curriculum is designed to develop creativity, resilience and problem-solving and critical thinking skills through computational thinking. Children are exposed to and have access to a wide range of technology and software to familiarise themselves with a range of devices and programmes preparing them for future experiences and employment. Staff are to embed computing across the whole curriculum and to make learning creative and accessible through the use of technology focussing on core skills for each year group. We utilise social media positively to share our learning experiences whilst promoting digital safety.
